2 days ago when I started Barney for the short run home, the 5 month old Gemini starter sounded a bit funny.
Got home and turned the motor off, and I could hear something still whirring...???????
I found the starter motor was still spinning- but not engaged with the ring gear. Pulled the red/white `start' wire off, but it's still going...
Anyway I had to disconnect the battery to stop it.
It seems the solenoid let the pinion retract when it started, but the switch contacts must be stuck together in there or something.
Anybody else had this problem?
BTW it's under warranty (2 yr) so it'll be going back....
