Hi all I just bought some new shafts and they seem a bit sloppy in the also new bearings. When measured they are 0.747", to me that is 3 thou under what they should be, I measured an old shaft and it is 0.7495" which seems about right to me. My question is are the new ones within tolerance or should I take them back

I would take them back, .003" is way too much clearance for any needle bearing.
If the supplier says they are all like that go elsewhere.
Geez it's getting hard to maintain aftermarket parts quality now...
It's not just all about `tell em the price, son'... if they don't fit and work properly, they are junk.

I bought a rear pivot arm shaft a while back, the nut was fine on one end, but on the other it only had about 1/4 of normal thread engagement depth, if I'd done it up it would have stripped. So I returned it..

it gets worse...the number of firms who for years have provided after market bits and OEM spares being taken over and trashed is alarming....can't think of the name of the place, but they cut gears etc in SYD...bought out, sacked the people with the nous and moved all machinery to MEL...now they seem to have lost the ability to do what they were doin before

Fudd sells the Jag/Landy name to Tata

You can't get some pistons/bearings etc for older cars...etc etc the world is coming to an end

Pretty right, but I dont think there will be one in America

A popular motor journo here said that if he was Ford, he would have sold Ford and kept Jaguar/Landy !!!!!!!! He doesn't feel Ford has the ability to compete with Asia making run-of-the-mill economy/family cars. Hmmmm, food for thought.
