Post subject:  basic air fuel ratio

hey guys,

want to set the ratio so i can get the thing to atleast run a bit.

its a 1.5 su of a rover.

how many turns of the nut etc would you guys do?

It's been a while... but I think you need to take the dashpot off, screw the jet until it is level with the bridge (you should see what thay means) and then 'unscrew (move down)' the jet 8 flats (or 1 and 1/3 turns)...

But that's only a starting point...

Turn nut down to richen and up to lean out. There is no settings all engines are diffrent depending on the state of tune of engine. To get a correct air/fuel ratio you need a good air/fuel ratio meter

I always took Vizard's advice and went 14 flats (2-1/3 turns) from the bridge.. I usually find that setting is only 3 flats or so either way from stoich according to the Colourtune.

That's on HS2's though, I assume that's still correct for the HS4.
