It really does depend on who does it I'm afraid. I was quoted anywhere between $1000-$3500 for vinyl (all seats and door cards) I was quoted between $3000 -$7000 for full leather. Some fabrics are alot more expensive than vinyl or even leather. I was warned against the suede look microfibre as it is not UV stablised and will deteriorate quite badly. But things may have changed since last year. In the end I was very lucky and I used an aircraft upholsterer here in Perth who had the contract to do the fleet of aircraft I maintain. Because I gave him 40 aircraft to do I got a full leather interior for $1600. ![]() Sorry just bragging! Ring up a few upholstery places and get some quotes. Then when you have isolated a couple of then go and see the work they do. Get them to give you fabric samples and pick one you like rather than the one they want to sell you. I would say at a guess $800 - $1200 should give you a good range to choose from. Cheers, Gig |

A mate of mine who makes sheep skin seat covers for a living from home is telling me to do my own upholsery - says he started out making vinyl seat covers on his mum's sewing maching and it is dead easy( so he says) When the time comes he said he'll give some pointers if I need it but he reacons any dummy can do it - all you need is a good paper pattern ![]() |

I got my fronts and rear seat recovered in vinyl with new foam for $950. Good job but would hate to think how much it would cost if the WHOLE lot had to be done. That was a couple of years ago though. |

re trimmed my cup seats in vynal for 100 bucks, its not hard to get a good result but anything up and i would say its near imposible for anyone with out year of exsperiance under their belt, they dont look bad and dont look tacky either but its just lots of mearsuring and even more measuring, and dont use white vynal you can see a safety pin hole from the moon, |

I've got a full set of seats over here for my car, I'm going to pick apart each panel and copy them in new MG black. I'll sew them together on the home machine with some quality cotton and see how it goes. If it doesn't look so (sew??) hot then I'll give it another shot...it doesn't look like rocket science if you have the pattern to go off. Different story if you need a custom pattern made.. |
