Just swapped the oil filter head over to a spin on, 8) Don't know why it took 3 years to do - the first time I just couldn't get the studs out of the block but this time they come out easy as - probably something to do with having the generator out

The gap at the top of the filter head dampened the good feeling - is all I need a different gasket or is plate or something missing?

Yes, it's a totally different shaped gasket, weird shape.

i want to do this aswell.
i have the piece that goes from the upper part of the block, and has a pipe running down to the main housing which the spin on must mount to.
what else do i need?

The gasket, and 2 short 3/8" bolts. The existing long studs you pull out.

Have you removed the spacer from the block. I know mine was painted and looked like it was a part of the block. Once removed i just used some gasket maker and it works a treat. no leaks at all.

Cheers

Hey that looks great, why didn't I think of that. I almost hate to ask - how long did that take you?

And thanks to you I have been able to Bling Bling it.
It took me another 3-4 Hours worth of polishing.
I'm now working on another peice of the engine bay and the the Dellorto.
I wish I had a bremill though :x

Do you mean a Dremel?

KB's treasure trove of a garage has one of those in the cupboard!
I still think it would take a while with the dremel though (fairly small contact point).

I'm back at work next week, but ring or PM if you want to try it.
