Post subject:  Fuel Flow Problems

I suffer a fuel flow problem mainly when turning corners. I think the standard SU is flooding because the float could be set too low. Could anyone tell me the right 'height' for the float?

Oh, and does anyone else suffer from this problem?

Fuel surge is a common problem with HS type SUs, especially when the float is too low, as when you go to fast round a corner the carburettor is starved of fuel. I blame gravity. The correct float clearance is 1/8" - a drill bit between the float and lid is the easiest way to check it.

Thanks I'll adjust it to 1/8 and see how it goes

I just found this on the net.

Could be of use to anyone thinking of tuning their SU.
