Hi there everyone, just got a quick question with regards to transmission interchagability. I am currently rebuilding a 1275A+ engine to drop into my mini which is a late model clubby. On the new engine ive noticed that its got the old pot change with the primary shaft, but the car is set up with a rod change engine. My question is can i fit my old transmission off a 998 to the new 1275 engine, cos im not sure about the gearing between the two setups? Another thing ive noticed is that most, if not all, 1275 engines run pot gears, is there a practical reason for that??? Thanks in advance ![]() |

Thanks in advance ![]() Some of your terminology has me confused... ![]() Anyway, if it's a late Oz Clubby 998 it will have a rodchange box, yes a 1275A+ will drop straight on. You will need a 1275 A series primary gear and a Cooper S blue dot clutch diaphragm. |
