Post subject: | Which Carby ? |
My Clubman currently has an 1 1/2 su on a 1275 with a lumpy cam ( 40/80 i was told) Extractors and 10.5 : 1 compresion ratio. The last owner of the engine had 45 mm webber fitted and changed it as he said it sucked the juice. Should i stick with the 1 1/2 SU or will twin 1 1/4 give much more power without chewing the fuel ? |

I'd go with the HIF44 1.75" SU if you are worried about fuel and wanting an upgrade over your single 1.5". I don't think i'd recomend twin 1.25", though. |

I'd go with twin 1-1/2", or single HIF44. It is possible to get reasonable economy from a 45 Weber or Dellorto if jetted right, won't be as frugal as SU's though! ![]() |

i'd go twin 1.25's much better than a single 1.5 on power and if you set them up right will use no more fuel and can use less. two carbs are always better than one. Twins aren't that hard to setup and they aren't that hard maintain. As a matter of fact i haven't touched my twin su's for over 12 months now and they ar still sweet as a nut. Hope this helps Cheers Aaron |
