I used Cobra Subframes that I got from Revoloution Racegear and modified it to suit my Sparco Seats.

Yes you are going to need a subframe to clear the cross brace in the Mini's floor pan, otherwise you will be too far back.

Take your seat into one of the race suppliers and see what they have. Generally the guys are really helpfull and can tell you what is practicle and safe.

You may need to strengthen the floorpan if you are mounting onto it. I managed to crack mine from the forces while racing. Put a piece of alloy checkerplate on top and then mount through it. This spreads the load over the whole floor pan without adding too much weight. (make sure its alloy!)

I made my own brackets for a Cobra Trophy from 30mmx2.0 and 25x1.5 SHS tube. All the welding is nickel bronze... 8)

The front bolts into the Mini 3 hole brackets.
The rear crosstube is angled so it sits flat on the floor.
It's quite stable on track days but if I was really racing I would bolt the rear through the floor.

The cobra base mounts to the stock mounts, had new rear feet made up and they are bolted to the floor with a plate underneath the floor. Stock rear feet are plastic.

I can thank my useless camera for making the pics pink... Ive tried to dull the pics down a bit.

Hey Hanra, do your shoulder wings touch the bodywork or doors at all??

Yep they just foul on the pillar. The seats are as far back as they will go on the rails, but if if moved the entire frame back they would end up clearing.
