Well today dad and I took a drive up to Northern Mini Parts in Heidleburg.

We had a good look around and had a look at some of the mini's they have in the back... nice little collection :D While we were there dad was looking at the engines and he noticed that the cooper s enigine they had for sale ($3000) was exactly the same as the one we have sitting here at home that we picked up for $300 with twin carbs etc..

So.. I ended up buying a front apron panel, right and left guards and a bonnet. Now I have no excuse not to get a move on with the steel flipfront conversion.

ohh and I bought a grill and the surround too :D

He's had that on sale for a long while. I saw it once, it is an S engine with the rear covers, can't ignore the casting no matter what the number says.

Someone was quoting only yesterday a machine job and rebuild on their 1275 at 2500 bucks.
So 3k for a ready to go on a box isn't that unreasonable really if you look at those numbers ....

I prefer my own labour to paying someone else, so for me I would rather build it myself and gain something from it.
