I'm looking at a set of 4 ROH mags 10x5, no caps, no nuts, no tyres and in fair-good condition (need a polish but the paint is good). These are the ones that don't need flairs. The guys asking $450...are they worth it :?:

Are they fairly straight? :? (i.e. can be balanced properly?).

How easy is it to get nuts for them? (take this into account - I got some nuts custom machined for some wheels - very expensive  )

Nuts are pretty easy to get a hold of, but they aren't exactly cheap. About $20 or something for 4 last i checked.

They are probably good value at that price. They are very sought after by the NB racer crowd so I don't think you can go wrong.

Yep. good price. Hmmm I love that car. It looks better the closer you get. So much time making every panel perfect. I wish I had talent...

I forked out $250 for a set, not perfect, about 5 yrs ago, so $450 now looks about right.

nah, too much - the last couple of sets on ebay went for around $250. $300 is about right

Yep, agree with Simon -- for $450 I'd want tyres as well.

As Tspeed says - and it's a bit hard to tell from the photos - but if they are the less-common LS offfset Contessas that we use on the Nb cars then YES, they are definately worth $450 in good condition. Nuts are easy to get and competition cars aren't allowed to fit caps.
If you decide not to buy them, let me know and I'll take them

Yeah their Andrews, I'm not doubting the quality of them as I know him personally and he is a good bloke. I just don't want to spend too much but by the sounds of it $450 is a fair price...as I'll want them asap and I don't think a set will pop up on ebay any time soon with in a hours drive

Those look like the rarer "LS" offset contessas. Very hard to find nowadays. They allow NB racers to fit S brakes without flares. I am not surprised they are expensive to tell you the truth, it look me several years to gather up 8...

Kenno, now knowing that nuts are easy to get I would buy them and fit some sticky rubber

With some mods to the caliper!!!!

Need to carefully grind above and behind the blled nipple just a mm or two!

Cheers
Matt

PS they look like LS offset contessas to me! still use standard contessa nuts.

... and DON'T overtighten the bleed nipples. You can break the casting more easily once it's modded.
