Has any one orderd straight cut gears from the UK ?
And can any one tell me if all the gears in a rod change box are the same as remote 22g1128 gear box.
Also is there any other little part i will need to order at the same time to change to straight cut gears?

We got a set of ST straight cuts from Minispares years ago,
kit number for 22G1128 remote box is C-AJJ4014.
Kit number for early rodchange box is C-STN76
The reverse gear is different, I think that is all between them.

These numbers are from my Minispares catalog.

Probably best to tell us what you are trying to do and what gearbox type you wish to use. That will drive what to order. Non A+ rod change gears are changeable with 4 synchro remote gears except for reverse gear. There are 2 different mainshafts, one with 14mm nose, the other 18mm. The matching 1st motion shaft must be used to suit which mainshaft is being used.

The gear box is a mini k box with all the cooper s bit in it .
I have removed all the gears for inspection and found them all to be in poor condition and i dont want to build up another gear box full of old parts again. I would like to use the car for club level racing(dirt track) to start with. So if any one can help with gear box info i could do with some help.
Cheers Tony

Whats the top speed on the dirt track?

If it's low then you could use a close ratio gearset with a short diff ratio out of a Moke.

I don't have any dirt track experience so unsure if the SC close ratio gears would be of any benefit. Maybe worth thinking about what DOZ has suggested.
Otherwise, the cheapest way of getting SC gears in your gearbox is to use the MiniSpares Clubman SC gearset, #C-STN39. This set uses your own 1st gear and reverse. While it says for A+ only, this is because it uses the A+ layshaft (3 step one) and the 18mm mainshaft. A mod to the layshaft or gearbox case is all that is required to make it fit. I have run this set up in my race car for many years.
Before you decide what to do, what is the condition of your synchro hub sliders? Important for the the small teeth on the outer ring of these to be in good condition. How worn are the selector forks? Again, these need to be in good condition. What is your mainshaft like? It should be the early 14mm one. If the gears are in poor condition then the rest of it is also likely to be in poor condition. If the nose of the mainshaft is worn, Kevin (DRMINI) can repair and replace with 18mm nose if that's the way you go.
Keep the questions coming.
