Yeah I agree, i mean one wheel on the back, that would lose so much of the trademark mini handling. Although it is well made and not some bodgy home job. |

There's no explaining the British eccentricity, except to say long winter days with no sunshine, and misty rain for months. Besides, boatails were popular in the 60's. KB |

They do it because 3 wheelers there pay much less road tax than regular cars. ![]() |

Plus, back in the day (not sure about now), you could drive that on a motorcycle license. In post-war blighty, private cars were very expensive, if you were allowed to buy one. If you could justify a commercial vehicle, they paid cheaper road tax as well. Hence, you could buy a mini van and put windows and a rear seat in, and effectively get a 'car'. It was illegal though. |

Here in Oz back in the 60s you could buy a station wagon (eg Hillman Minx) with no rear seat fitted, and register it as commercial- if you owned a farm then you didn't pay sales tax. ![]() Then next week you called at the dealer and got the seat... ![]() |

Still goes on a little...Motorbike dealers got a stern talking to from the tax department a few years ago for allowing primary producers to rort the primary producer tax scheme which allowed them to buy their motorbikes and quads minus the tax. It seems the primary producers were using buying Harl ey Davidsons and BMWs to round the sheep up... |

I doubt it would handle any different. There rear suspension is just there to stop the car from dragging on the ground. it does little else.. |
