Ok. Sp i'm back on the track of desperately want to drive the mini around, and so have to get it registered. (I'm sure you all know how it goes) My question is, with the 13" x 7' wheels, because they are more than 26mm bigger than the original 10", they do protrude. If I got bigger flares to cover the wheels do you think it would still pass rego? The oil leaks, although need fixing, can be "fixed"... ![]() The only other problem with the car is that the battery is not recharging, and now it won't start. Makka thinks its corrosion somewhere. Is this something I can get dad to help me fix? Thanks Cass |

As for the not starting bit, check the battery connections in the boot. Twist the battery terminal to see if it on tight. Then check the voltage there at the posts or see if the battery will charge from here. Then check it again under the bonnet. Depending on a thousand other factors, it might be the battery terminals, it might be other things...but one thing a at a time... |

you might juz need a new battery cass if its not charging. is the alternator charging it once its started? as for rego. if you put big flares to cover the wheels you will pass rego. the wheels cant pretude past the guards but with flares its an exception. and the oil leak i told you before juz give the engine a wash so you get the rego and fix it later. |

My brother just put a new battery in it. it will be a contact problem somewhere I think. |

hang a tick. cass when you say not charging are you meaning its not being charged or its not holding a charge??? now if its a new battery check alternator, alternator belt then go through and check your wiring. if you got a multimetre test to see how many volts the alternators putting out to the battery. if its not enough check the belt |

if you got a multimetre test to see how many volts the alternators putting out to the battery. if its not enough check the belt Not charging. Ignition light stays on after car has started (not that there's enough charge to even turn the engine over at the moment) I think it will either be an issue of not charging, or the charge not getting through to the starter motor. |

ok if that light stays on its the alternator. tiny does it till you rev him to 2000rpm then it goes out but if its stay on continously then alternator isnt charging or your belt is really loose. |

If the light stays on to 2000 rpm then goes out, either the belt is slipping or the alternator needs new brushes. It should go out well before 1000 rpm. |
