Howdy, What do you reckon, I have my clubby nearing completion... and thinking about flares. They will be the screw on type... Wheels will be Contessa's painted silver centre, polished rim. Car is yellow So should I paint the flares the same as the car, or leave em black? Pete. |

black flares on a yellow car look great, especially with a black roof. Britax racing style |

I personally think the only time flares should be black is if the roof is as well....applies to road cars and race cars. If they're the only black panel it just looks like you couldn't be shagged painting them. |

These the innocenti style ones? Do they even really fit Clubmans at the front? Reason is, I've got a set and I tested them, and they finished way to early at the front, not to mention didn't even really follow the arch. IMO Clubby S are the way to go. |

Yes he's thinking of fitting Inno ones. ![]() I like them too because: 1. They are cheap, and available. If you break one you can buy another anywhere. 2. They let you toss away the chrome `shrinking plastic' strips. They don't rely on these strips to hold the flares on. 3. You don't have to weld or rivet metal strips to the arches. 4. If you want to put it back to its unflared state, you just fill the holes and touch the paint up. 5. If you want Bling just fit the S/S flare cover strips on them. I'd leave them black, see how it looks. Red and yellow Minis look nice with black flares. ![]() |

Yep, Doc has it. Im after both - ease of getting them, slightly wider flare and not going to have the chrome strip... will have black strip along the floor between the flares. Its decided, they will stay black and if I really dont like it, will paint them the same as the car. Pete. |
