Post subject: | number question |
ive asked this question to a few people and they cant tell me what it is. i thought it might be a number from production. the number is 1015/6756 and engraved on the block where the little flat bit is above the alternator. some people say its juz an engine number some people say its an overbore number. just was wondering if anyone on here would know. |

The 10 means it is a 1098cc engine. The 15 means it is the 15th variation which basically means it is a very late 1100, probably out of a Leyland Mini from about 74/75. The 6756 means it is number 6756th off the line. |

Does the number match your rego papers? (I hope so!) ![]() Just make sure that if you ever get the block decked that they don't grind off the numbers. ![]() |

Is it engraved or stamped Joe , they were stamped originally and if it's been done by hand with an engraver it may cause problems with a rego inspection . |
