Hey

just wanting to know what cars came out with the HIF 44?
Went to the wreakers and they didn't have a clue of what i was talking about and i dont no what car/s they came out on so they couldn't help.

all i know is that they come off metro turbos but im unsure if they can be run on a naturally aspirated motor? can they?

what motor are you bolting it too?

its going to go on am 1098 but with the sc12 supercharger kit that ben is making up for me :D
its either the HIF or get a manifold made up for the solex i currently run :?: dunno which way i'll go yet.

have you considered ditching the blow through setup and trying a suck through? (im just guessing the carbys are under pressure)

The HIF44 was fitted to thousands of cars in the UK. The trouble is not many of them came to Aus.
You want to be looking at British cars from the early 80s.

The normal HIF44 is not a turbo carby. It is a special HIF44 that was used on turbos.

SU Midel can convert the standard HIF44 to blow-through, but it ain't cheap.

The metro turbo used a HIF-6 carb.

For Bens Sc12 kit you need a standard Hif44...

The turbo version was sealed to take the pressure. You can get the bits to convert from Burlen fuel systems here in the UK. I think they post anywhere.

I didn't want to as you guys are the daddy's when it comes to this kit...

Anyway here is my SC12 build thread from my home club in the UK..

Speaking to Ben he says its the first in the UK :P and on Hydro...
