does he idle nicely?

if not idling good at all, maybe head gasket or valve going
coz when my head gasket went i thought the bearings were going to southamerica and not thinking of coming back. at all.

Nah it's not the bearings as i know what that sounds like as i ended up with pistons hitting the head they were that bad

Engine still ticks along nicely just goes clunk when you put it into gear and let the clutch out so it's driveline related. :x

It'll just have to wait till i get back from work tomorrow to swear at it some more

EDIT: typo

sounds like the drive shaft has come out of the CV Joint has happened to me or the drive flange has stripped on end of CV joint.(Not I have Cooper S Dics)

The CV Could have Busted also.

Well I got under there and swore heaps.
Then went and bought a ball joint splitter and had the thing out in 5 mins. (it's amazing what the correct tool can do! )
The driveshaft had come out of the cv joint so i'm going to get it replaced this week then i'll do the other side next week.

Oh and thanks for the support guy

Went to Classic Motoring today and got a new outer cv joint for $112.90.
Thats pretty good compared to what shaftmaster wanted $190ea  , no wonder they're called shaftmaster

I'll do the other side when the bruised ego isnt so touchy :?
