Hi all,

I am looking to buy some new tyres, these will be pretty much track day tyres with a little road use too but not much.
I have used on the road A008's and was more than happy with them, i also used them once at wakefield and was also pretty happy with them.
although i am now considering 32r's, Hoosiers or dunlop Formula R's.

does anyone have a good comparison on them for me?
are the Dunlops just a sporty street tyre like the A008 or are they up with the 32 and Hoosiers?
Prices i have found are
A008 125ea
Dunllop 138ea
AO32R 213ea
Hoosier - not sure who sells them, i think you can get them through Rocket industries but i will have to look further into this - can n e one help?

Grant

If it's for the street i don't think hoosiers will be legal?

Is this for the 13's? or you got some 10's that will fit now?

I would rate the A032R above the other two.

The Formula R's and A008's would be about the same.

For what you want i'd go the A032R's...if you're sticking with the 13's get the A048R's..

You just missed out... a truck of mini stuff just left here about 1/2 an hour ago on it's way to Sydney.
Be on the look out for a yellow 69 import and a white Rover probably getting into Sydney Tuesday afternoon.

The Formula R's should out perform A008s, but probably won't last as long, however are better value IMO.

A032Rs

even 2/h they are the grippiest tyres i have ever had on a Mini.

The Hoosiers need very different suspension settings ( much less camber) than the A032Rs. So if you decide to change later you will have to change the suspension settings. Having said that they will both work well at road suspension settings.

Hi all,

thanks fo rthe feedback, as it is only going to be on the track now and thne i will go the dunlops right now as i cant quite stretch to the 32R's.
i will see how they go and compare them to the A008's i had last.

next set i will go the 32R's and do a compare.

Dunlop Formula Rs work best when they are buffed down to 2 or 3mm of tread, just above the wear bars. In my experience they work really well for a couple of laps, but lose grip when they get too hot.
