ive got a question, i just finished paint tinys spots that the rust was repaired and im abit annoyed how the passenger side has turned out. i maybe have sprayed abit to much paint and now i have paint run marks, does anyone know how to get rid of them or will i have to start again?

don't get annoyed, get even, you show that paint who's the boss

best way to get rid of runs is to go and buy a piece of carbide, an inch square will only set you back about $150, it has razor sharp flat edges and is perfect for scraping the runs back to a flat surface, then you rub with some 2000 wet'n'dry, and then polish it

or you could get on with it and start over, and remember not to do it next time

only if you buff it back to bare metal

(buffing hits all of the surface of the paint, not just the high spots)

What sort of paint is it?
If its acrylic you may be able to buff the runs out.

If it's two pack though you've got no chance...

acyrlic. might attempt to use some 1600 to 2000 grit wet and try that. ill put some pics up maybe tomorrow the paints undercover so you may not see it

If it is acrylic then you can rub back with 1000 wet & dry with a hard block util the runsd have been flattened, then buff with buffing compound.
And yes you can rub back and buff 2 pack with the same results.

Just make sure the paint is dry.

Put a mist coat of primer over the area with the run.

Use a block with 800 first and sand the area so the run reduces and you just start to get to the primer on the rest of the area.

Use the block with 1500 to get rid of the primer so the whole area is now colour. Area of repair (and probably rest of car) can be buffed and waxed. I use a Farecla G3 buffing compound, followed by a finer finish G10 and then a wax - all applied with a RO (random orbital) polisher.

Take your time and do it slowly and you will get the result. Acrylic is very forgiving
