As above, what are the best ones for a standard small bore? It will be getting a Minispare's alloy inlet manifold and twin box RC40 exhaust.

Maniflow - tried and tested...have tried perry and the cheaper clones...went back to Maniflow.

RC40 is a good choice though - go the twin box - believe it or not they make 1-2 more hp than the single RC40 rear box(according to Visard that is...)

I couldn't believe the difference a set of maniflows made to the note coming through an RC40...a nice combination.

No, I'd consider these:

Those LCBs are more suited to a really hot 998 or a big bore, you might even find the 3-1 are better suited to a standard smallbore.

Granted and $10 bucks cheaper - I found the 3 into 1 easier to fit and no painful Y-piece but I have more power and low end torque on the LCB - but then I do also run a Dellorto so that is probably why...lol

I think anything is better than the standard pea shooter - when you get your original muffler off, cut it in half and look at the internals - Blocked comes to mind!!

yes, i have a standard 998 and i was thinking the 3 into 1 as a sort of stage one upgrade, would the sound be diffrent, if so how to a LCB, i thought that the diffrent noise eg louder or softer would have been from the type of exaust used?

Sounds completely different - whichever one you go - and for the better. All minis should have sounded like that!! :D

Rob, Mick, what's the OD of the header pipes of those 1 3/4" exit maniflows?

any idea?

proformance wise?

Dunno about the OD, Also can't put a figure on the improvement either, but they were better than the crappy 3 branch perrys I removed. Not a bad buy for a less than 250..

:D Yes they are the ones i'd fit on any size a-series engine especially if you are thinking further forward where you may put a larger bore a-series engine in your car.....even if it is only modifying the current engine in the car.
 Oh and just so you know they DO clear rubber uni joints without modification to the pipes......only just clear but they do clear them none the less.

 My 5 cents worth

I would still get LCB's even for a standard 998. Means you've got the best for when you mod the 998 further or fit a 1275.

Fair call actually, LCBs might not be the best extractors for a standard 998, but they'll be a damn sight better than the pea shooter.. and you've got the right bits for when you do crank up the tune 8)
