Post subject:  List of ALL Mini wheels - let's try! [July 09 - is it done?]

Hi!

I had a bit too much time, so I thought it would be usefull to share my (digital) collection of Mini wheels resp. wheels with 4x4" PCD.

Covering all wheels from 10" to 13".
That's what it looks at the moment, with about 77 wheels:

http://www.mini-mayfair.net/felgen.html

And now: if YOU have something to correct or missing in this list,
please tell me and I will put it in.
You can mail me at the adresse given on the page or go strassenbelag-at-gmx.net.

There maybe some pictures took out of ausmini.com - if tjis is not okay to you please tell me and I will remove them as soon as possible to me :)

Best regards,
Jan

You don't have any Mk 1 or Mk 2 Tasman wheels (look similar to the Dunlop D1). They come in 5x10" and I have no idea of the offset. The spokes on the Mk 1 Tasman are very similar to the D1's (the spokes go in towards the centre), the Mk 2 Tasman has the spokes protruding out from the centre.

A picture of these can be seen in this recent eBay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320248061225

The main difference between the Dunlops and these is that the Dunlops have more of a triangular cut out in them whereas the Tasman's have a trapezoidal cut out.

Also just a note, the wheels that you have listed as "firsat", a small correction, Firsat made the wheels, the wheel itself is known as a Rostyle wheel.

Cheers

The unknown Starmags at the bottom of the 10" wheels I believe are from New Zealand and are called Spectrum. Different to Spectrum rims from the UK though.

Chris, the 'standard' clubbie wheels are made by firsat, not Rostyle! Firsat are the Italian company who made wheels for Innocenti ! So actually all Clubbie S's etc had 4.5 x 10 Innocenti wheels!!

The initial 10" UK 1275 GT and the Aussie Clubman GT had Rostyles; RO stamped on the wheel is for Rubery Owen (the Manuufacturer in the UK) See here (thanks Anton :? )

Also in the 10" Unknown 12 are Mawer's. 13 are KN Mercury (I think) and 14 Hotwires.

What About JAP (JA Pierce) Magna's 6 x magnesium! or Rose petal Cooper rims or.......... :D

I think you mis-read my post mate, I said that firsat made them, but the style of wheel is rostyle

Yes you did, but I was just trying to clarify that there are two types of wheel,

Firsat:
Image
Four holes, 4.5" x 10 same offset as Cooper S and Made by Firsat in Italy (a la Inoocenti) and stamped Firsat....
Oh and they also made rear subframes too! :)

Then Rostyle Eight Holes, also 4.5 x 10" made in UK by Rubery Owen.
As posted above.

I've never heard the Firsat referred to as Rostyle?, I guess your post was referring to 'styled after' (or in the fashion of?) a Rostyle

Or am I being pedantic?

Pass me my Anorak and lets talk about Hose clips!!

I am not explaining myslef properly.

Rostyle wheels where made in Britain by Rubery Owen, they where wheels that were pressed steel painted black with aluminium to try and mimic mags.

Yes the wheels I am talking about were made by firsat in Italy, and were not made by the Rubery Owen company, but they are without a doubt Rostyle style wheels and that is all I have ever called them. Infact they are more rostyle wheels than the actual gt 8 hole ones due to the ribs and the paint, as opposed to just the ribs on the GT.

So yeah what I was trying to say, was that the label on the wheel should have said Firsat - Rostyle wheel. to be more pedantic i guess firsat - rostyle style wheel :P

I think we both know what we are talking about, but we have just confused everyone else

Well, while we're being pedantic, the ROH wheels shown are Contestas (not Contessas, although that does sound better) and they also came in 5x12 and 6 x 13.

I'm not sure which variety of Superlite you have shown, English or Australian, but the Australian ones are made by Performance industries (http://www.performancewheels.com.au/superlite.asp) and they appear to have a new variety called a Superlite GTR. Their 13 x 5.5 Challenger and Spitfire will also fit Minis.

There are also the 10" mags shown on this car: http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41931
which came out in the late 80's or early 90's but I can't remember the name..

Spank from the American Mini mania forum had a wheels chart too, but i`m not sure where it`s gone too now, my link for it doesn`t seem to work anymore.

Graham in Aus do you know where he`s gone?

My wheel display on my site didn`t take long before it came to a stop, it takes way too much time to sort & research & confirm it all

There are many many more mini wheels out there,,, just like the Amos ones on my blue "S" in the other thread started by Poeee , but still it`s a dam good thing if we can all try to chase the names & dates & manufacturers of as many mini wheels as we can for future questions & prosterity

Oh & i believe the last one at the bottom of the 13" wheel section on the red sports sedan is an "Avanti"
