Just as a follow-up to the "850's fact or fiction" thread that mentioned a plastic bodied Mini, plus the photo showing one (i personally don't like the roof seams on it, but the rest of it looks good. Any more photo's???), I found this piece of craftsmanship that might be of interest. http://www.minimania.com/web/Item/MMFG1 ... Detail.cfm I know I'd shell out for it (pardon the pun ![]() Then there are these: http://www.domino-cars.co.uk/index2.htm I remember seeing a variant of the fibreglass ones where a guy had a twin headlight set-up made when the shell was laid. Basically had the standard shell, but with the top part of the guards added on and blended to have the 2nd headlights sitting at about 45 degrees to the originals, kind of strange, kind of cool... ![]() Can't find his web-site though.... ![]() |

The cars i wrote about never survived. They were a plastic body that the factory were trialing. supposedly none survived the crash testing... Later came the fibreglass one. |

Do you know of any web sites with articles about the plastic and fibreglass factory variants on them? I think it'd be quite interesting reading. |

That's interesting too. I believe there is a fibreglass body available in UK, not sure who is building it. Also, MiniMania in US were going to release one for sale there last year, for US$7,000- they showed a prototype, I dunno what happened after that. |
