Post subject:  Dyno tuning??

hey guys, my car is going in for a dyno tune on Tuesday... the cars only been on the road for a month but running very rich and engine is very temprimental! is there anyhting in particular i should make sure they check or i need to tell them?? standard 998 with exhaust system.
I've never had this stuff done before, being tuned at Silverwater automotive services.

I'd hazard a guess and say check the needle and the oil in the dashpot of the carby :wink:

I'd hazard to guess that SAS don't know much about SU carbs and tuning minis...

They're are used to doing ECU tuning for EFI cars by using a laptop etc..did they actually tell you they could do it?

I'd be getting it tuned at mini classic by greig malure on his dyno...he's only up the road in ermington..

if its standard you can tune it very easily..
just put it to manufacturers specifications.

if they don't know SU's, you're throwing your money away... more often than not, people who get their cars dyno tuned come away with it running worse than when they started

And use the fuel specified by the manufacturer. (Leaded Super 96 octane) 8)

You can't just use the manufacturers specifications because they are not right for the current fuels. You set the timing and mixture to what the car needs, not what the book says.

Picked my mini up from mini classic today, greg did an excellent job at a very reasonable price :-). highly recommend anybody having issues with their mini to go see him!
