I have searched both on google and ausmini and cant find an answer.

How can you tell if a mini is an original 1275 ls?

Is it as simple as matching up numbers? If so what should I be looking for?

I am on the hunt for one and have noticed that some people are selling them as 1275 ls however they no longer have the strip down the sides.

It is very rare to see a 1275LS with original paint. The late Minis rusted badly and the metallic paints faded awful.
Even the last 1275LS in the Birdwood museum has had repairs. 8)
