I fitted new points and condenser yesterday to my mini, was running fine when I went for a roady.
This morning on the way to work got about 2km from home and it started to cough and fart, backfiring through the carby and basically running like a dog. Had me stumped, try for about 30 minutes on the side of the road to get it going, but no luck. So I walked home and had a think about what had happened and thought I will put the old condenser back in and see what happens (the old points were RS) Anyway put the old one back in and away it went.
The question is, is it possible that new condenser was no good or is it just a coincidence that it started to run properly again?
Cheers Pete
