just had a look at some contessas and they look in good condition except for some sort of inserts into the stud holes, i cant say ive ever examined contessas b4 and have no idea if they all have this set up.. what is noticeable is that some ot these inserts are not flush with the wheel centre, some standing up and some slightly recessed.. anyone understand what im waffling on about??? is this normal?? |

Most of the sets I have seen are slightly recessed. I think you will find that the ones sticking out have the washer (which sits under the nut) pushed into it. It should come out with a bit of persuasion, and most mini places sell the new washers! |

Yeah.... they are normal. I guess it depends on the guy fitting them in the factory, and how well he fit them |

When you buy new Contessa nuts these days, the chromed washers come with them. At least these wheels have washer inserts- unlike Superlites. I saw some of those nicely chewed up a while back, and the Superlite nuts strip real easy too. Ask Mini Mad.. ![]() |
