Post subject: | Mini S vs Mini |
My apologies if this question has been posted before, i tried to search for it but came up with zilch. I have a 1976 Leyland Mini (possibly Mini S) and am curious as to the differences between the Mini and Mini S. 1018cc has already pointed out the body id number will be different. Are there any other differences between the two models? Thanks |

The flares will be mounted to metal guard extensions that are spot welded to the guard lip whereas the basic mini will have plain guard lips . |

The Mini S has vinyl seats just like the Mini. The Cloth inserts are on the SS and LS. The real difference between the Mini and the Mini S was $250. |

If the body number begins with 022 it is an S. If it begins with 021 it is a normal Mini. |

The cloth seat inserts depends on the year. My current '76 S has Vinyl, my old '78 S had cloth inserts. |

Remember that there were two levels of trim in the Mini and Mini S. |
Rostyle wheels are only on the Clubman GT. The Mini S wheels are not Rostyle wheels.
so what wheels are these on my S? (i assume standard...) ![]() Note that the S also has under-riders on the front bumper, as well as S badges on front and rear. motors are identical (except where the pollution gear is fitted) |

Dylan , this is a Rostyle , notice it's got 8 slots around the wheel center instead of the 4 slots your mini S wheels have . ![]() |
