Post subject:  Fitting FRONT K-mac sway bar

Hi Guys,

Got the rear K-Mac sway bar fitted to animal (came with instructions, bonus!!), but now I need to fit the front K-Mac sway bar.

Anyone got pics of how this is supposed to attach? Better yet, anyone got instructions? I called K-Mac a few times, and they keep sending me the rear instructions!

cheers

matt

there's been a lot of discussion about the necessity of sway bar for road use...

seems to come to the point that it may not really be that helpful

The fastest J cars in Australia do not run front sway bars and for good reason, front bars on amini cause more understeer, not a feature you want on a car that already has understeer tendicies

Waste of time on a mini , in fact it probably makes the handling worse ........

Thanks for the advice on wether to run a front bar or not, that to me at this point is irrelevant.  I will be fitting it and doing some trial and error in the future, runs with and runs without.

What I really need is a guide on how it fits up. Then, while I have access to a hoist, I can drill the subframe for the brackets, and therefore make it easier to fit/remove later once I have it on the track.

So anyone with pics or instructions? :D :D

Cheers

You asked how to attach it and i in my opinion that you should attach it to the other sway bar and stick it on ebay.. ;)

Funny how your opinions would be worth more if they were printed on bog rolls, might help get the cling ons off!

Hey, I've got it, I have a race car, and live 10minutes from a race-track...

I reckon I can afford to do some testing and see what I think works best for me!

So....

Anyone got the instructions?

Ahem...
Edit.

So anyone with pics of how they connect? To me it looks like they clamp to the lower control arms out near the ball joints, with the rod brackets near the front of the subframe on the forward facing bit that joins the cross -piece...

Can this be right?

Matt
