The first thing to learn is that it is spelt "matt" not "matte" ![]() ![]() The second thing is that matt black is very easy to paint and will look real classy off the gun but it only takes a week or two and the car will look totally crap. ![]() ![]() |

Just spray it in flat black primer, thats what i did on my mini many moons ago. Does look grubby after a while, but looks tough too. |

if you don't want to drive your car, just leave it in a showroom matt black will be fine, in the real world it looks very ordinary very quickly. I like the idea though |

on a similar topic I just had a quote to have mt car painted in a three stage pearl, he doesn't want me to do any prep work (wants to be sure its done right,) materials and labour included by a qualified spray painter : and the price??? $1200 ![]() |

I was reading about matt paints on a hot rod forum a while back and people where saying that a satin or suede finish was a better choice as it lasts longer than flat or matt. This may just be one of those things where people in other countries call things different things. I was thinking about matt khaki green for the van when I was working out colours. pm sent |
