hey all

im wanting to get a set of hi-lows for jester pretty soon (the rear sits too high and the front bottoms out speed bumps), but i had a little search around on here and couldn't find what i needed to know..

whats exactly need to install hi lows to my car...its got no hydro anymore.
i was thinking about getting the set from minisport

but is that all i need...do i need to get balls and cups or cones or something?

So has the car been converted to dry? If so then Hilos are all you need.

However, you will need to replace the knuckle joints (not because of the Hilos but because they probably haven't been changed in ages).

Minispares (UK) Hilos come with spare plastic buckets but not complete joints - and the balls will be worn as well).

So, ask the vendor if the Hilos come with new knuckle joints. If not, get them to throw in a set.

If you are getting Minispares (UK) units then you will need a one inch and a one and a quarter inch open ended spanners (ie 2 x spanners) for adjustment.

PS the ones in the photo/your link are not genuine Hilos so scratch my comments re spanner size. They will no doubt still work although I have seem some like this that need a bit of fiddling to fit - and you will need to order a set of knuckle joints.

Up your way the Miniman is the guy to contact, he makes his own and are great units, you can contact him by PM on here and he is in Brisvegas so close

it won't hurt to give the mini-man (matt) a call. The local guys on the coast (you know the ones I'm talking about) they'll have all the stuff you'll need and the know how but they are expensive :? It'll be a good idea to get all the stuff you need just in case eg knuckles, cups maybe even shocks.
