Nice :D

looks like it could be a oil pressure line fore a mechanical guage. Trace the other end and see where it goes. It looks like you still have the original oil pressure switch for the warning light in place (last photo next to the dizzy, screwed into the block witha wire connected to it). You either need to replace that switch with a tapping that the pressure lne connects to, or and this is a better idea, get a T-piece that fits in between the pressure switch and the block, and connect the pressure line to that. that way you have guage and warning light.

Well it does - make that did - have an oil pressure gauge it's just not connected anymore. Before I picked the car up an auto sparky removed the dash and something happened to the cable so now it only has a working light.

sounds like it just needs the tube connected at each end. if the dash puller broke the old tube, you should be able to replace it at any auto parts shop, speco have copper tube for about $5.

tis what i first thought: lotsa wires
go through the loom, check connections and tape it up or at least clean it up
and then you wont have to search and clench when theres a suspect 'leccy fault

I only got it last night... give me a chance...

Here's a pic from behind the dash. Are there any cables that need to go into the black hole on the top? The only spare cable I found behind tha dash leads up to the aerial. The connected cable in the middle WASN'T connected... it was dripping on my foot.

Looks like a place to screw in a lamp to illuminate the dial....look for a spare lamp in a holder that looks like it screws into something!
