Did all MK1's have the turn signal with the green light on the end?

I am rebuilding my 65 Deluxe with Cooper S gauges, rear fuel pump and just want to check all other switches etc will work OK, especially the turn signal and centre of steering wheel horn button.

The other change I am doing is to change the generator over to an alternator.

Should I buy a 'generator' loom and make the changes at the regulator box or will the 'alternator' version make it simpler and neater?

This is the link to the item I want to purchase:

Regards and thanks - all a bit confused at the moment!

Thanks Doogie - what are your thoughts about the alternator? If I change the generator to an alternator and put in the new loom will it work - can't be that simple????

I got the 'generator' loom and did the changes in the regulator box. . Besides looking original it gives a good spot to hide a spare key or what ever

I got that wiring loom with the alternator mod.

It is very well made, and the alternator plug is the correct one for my alternator on the MG metro donk I bought.

The two things that buggered me a little bit is my wiper motor is a later model 2 speed (which at the time I thought was normal) and the loom only had wiring for single speed, after a bit of study fitting a extra wire was easy. Second thing is that the wiring for the lights do not go all the way to them, I had to use some of the old wiring( to keep the colours) from tail and head lights to finish the hook up.

Apart from that it is great and easy to install.
