In a nutshell , the expense . Someone bought an elf (or hornet , can't remember now ) late last year and the transport costs were as much as from Japan (think it was cheaper to ship it via Japan or something stupid like that actually) . Was it Minimal Effort that did it , someone with a better memory will find the thread . |

Yep... was me.... Looking at the car in question it is a 40th anniversary - eg 1999 (?) ... Post 1989 have all sorts of complicated rules and regulations... and probably not be able to be registered in Australia. Hence I understand why BrickWorx can only bring in front cuts for late models.... (if you go and live overseas and own the car for over a year - you may be able to import and register it...but haven't checked the regulations recently... ) All very silly really but I think was typical Government knee jerk reaction to all the High performance Japanese cars being brought in...... one rule for all no expections... Ken. |

The NZ>Aus route is more expensive than Japan>Aus. Like $1000+ different for the shipping alone. Being a 1999 there is no way you can bring it in anyway, unless it's as a personal import (owned for 12 months + overseas). Check out the DOTARS website if you are half-serious. |

Plus for every mini we send you, you have to send a Holden Torana XU1, Falcon GT HO or a Valiant RT. It's not me, that's just the rule. |
