Hello.... I finally got to order the carpet for the mini, So I went to a dealer for a well known supplier that was closer to home than the main office. Anyway - I went in there asking for the lightest grey I could get, so to match the silver interior - And I made a big point of this all the way through, and finally choosing one and pointed it out to the guy as there were no colour names to state...
Anyway bout three weeks later (!) The carpet is finally ready, I go in and am presented with a darkish medium grey... I am so not happy... I had a huge discussion with the guy, he was dead certain thats what I ordered I said how could it be when you knew I was looking for light grey, he said he double checks everything and was surprised at the time that I picked that one cos of what I said I wanted I think its all a big stuff up.... He would not budge on it saying they are custom made and he would have a hard time selling it if I wanted a different one made and offered me a discount. I took the carpet, because for starters I cant afford another three week wait, and I dunno... Maybe itd be ok...
What do you guys think I should do? would a dark grey look ok with the silver? or should I try to sell it and get the color I wanted all along by travelling to the head office? (So itd be done quicker) I know lighter colours are harder to keep clean but how bad? Being that this car is going to be babied to the max, and I only got one chance to get it the way I want it... Sorry bout the long post... Im just really not happy...
Thanx

You should not have taken it...if it was not what you ordered thats their fault not yours! Doubly so that it was custom made....the darker shade may still look ok, but if it is not what you wanted or ordered, why settle with it just because he will find it hard to sell....

how dark is it to what you wanted :?: and as you said it is your car .trouble is you have taken it now so you can't take it back. how much did he want in the first place ? you could try and sell it and order the colour that you wanted in the first place, but as you say time is getting away if you want to be at the mini show have you tried it in the car yet?you might like it :)

Slate verses graphite in first row - see how they are right next to each other? same in the shop... guy was stupid to think I was pointing to the dark one....

http://www.tru-fitcarpets.com.au/loopcolours.htm

and yeah I realize now I shouldnt have taken them - He gave me a real hard time and I felt intimidated... Putting massive guilt trips on me, saying it was all my fault not his and I tried to tell him it was not suitable that it was the wrong colour etc but he would not back down only that I got a pretty big discount so that I would leave his shop with the carpet I suppose...
The more I think about the more I want the light grey.... I have rung the head office and made a complaint about the service I recieved, and they said if I go to the head office I can get same day service while I wait kinda thing and that they will look after me.....
But I am stuck with the carpet - I have listed it on ebay, fingers crossed!
Thanx guys.

I will say one thing, light gray is going to get dirty very quick, as darker will not.

I have dark grey carpet and love it, i think darker will suit Pricilla quite well.

And you got a discount....Also thay wear out quite quickly!!!

Anyway my 2c!

Ring them again and tell them that you want your money back.
Don't back down, tell them that you were intimidated into taking the wrong carpet and you want the one that you ordered.

Just get some light grey mats made up and put them over the top of the carpet, should add to the effect and also easy to remove when cigarette dust gets dropped on the floor...LOL.....

Light coloured seat covers and Bobs ya uncle.....
