Post subject:  FAIR PRICE FOR LS1275

hi guys I'm thinking of selling my 1275Ls just wondering what your thoughts were on what price I should sell it at. It's a Hi Ho silver model with original engine which runs well, all the interior is original but shabby with a couple of major tears in the driver seat, it has been repsrayed but needs to be done again due to the paint cracking and last but not least if has a couple of rust spots, which I've been told can be fairly easily fixed and it's registered and mechanically spot on I'll try and get some pics soon, but was just looking at price range as a guide ie bottom to top

You should PM willy, he is good with these types of questions.

Otherwise, do a search through For Sales and see what $$ they have been fetching lately.

I bought one recently that matches your description except for it having a redone interior. After having it a short time the clutch slipped a little so that has been changed.
Bought it for $5000

Someone up here bought a Nugget Gold recently, apparently very nice (I haven't seen it) for $9000

I know someone else who bought one for $9000 and then ripped it apart to repaint it, now owes him around $13000

Hope this helps
Steve

I Just brought one, 157000ks fully original apart from radio.
Small rust spot on left hand door and small rip in driver seat about 4cm long and 2 small dents. Roadworthy, Factory fitted sunroof very original and very good nick.

Paid $3400 but I was first in and brought it the day it was listed.

I recon depending on condition anywhere from $5000-$10000 for an average 1275LS. and more if its concourse or somthing like that.

but Im happy to buy yours at redbook value if your keen :D

Good luck

it's a shame that 1275 LS's aren't as well valued as they should be - they're a special model, and rarer than most, compared to a Cooper S, it should be worth $10K, but reality speaks and $4-$5K might be more like it

can you take one of those wheels off for me and tell me what the number cast into the inside is? I have a set very similar, and the only other set I've seen are on an early Corolla
