Just wondering which is the best way to go with my boot floor. It's rusted through where the spare tyre sits and needs replacing. Whats the best way to go? 1. Make a new panel to weld in (seems like a lot of work and probably won't be able to bet it exactly the same), or 2. buy a good second hand chopped part to go in. I had a quick look at the Karcraft price list and don't feel like paying $365 for a replacement panel. Thanks. Ziff |

Ziff The good Doc has been known to use old Computer Cases for a flat patch ![]() Best to shop around elsewhere for new, maybe A Grade Panels? MEL It is a reasonably complex item so thats why they may charge for it (I suppose the battery box would be extra? as well). Its just a stamping tho...it may be that they figure only body shops would want them and "Insurance" would be paying! Hunt around for a second hand one, take an angle grinder to a wreckers etc By the way, there are some tough double-skinned strengthened areas around the edges...make sure you have a decent disk on your angle grinder ![]() ![]() My Mini K has a donor clubbyboot floor. I went with the second hand donor panel from a clubman. You can use as much, or as little as you need. Also check for rust where the back seat panel joins the boot floor. Look from under the car for this. ![]() |
