Hey leighton

If it isn't even turning over than it is to do with something electrical. First of all does it make a clicking noise when you turn the key or is it completely dead?

If it makes a clicking noise than it it your starter motor/solenoid.

If nothing happens at all check that you have charge in your battery. Do your lights work?
If you have power, than you need to check that you haven't knocked a wire off. Check at the battery and at the solenoid, etc

It is not related to your exhaust.

Check the wires to your starter solenoid and if your battery is charged. There is a chance you left the door adjar or something so it has drained your battery.

Try jump starting it.

It wont be a big problem - something simple.

Perhaps your battery is flat?

clicking noise makes me think its the battery not being charged enough, i was trying to start mine yesterday for the first time in 6 months and the battery was shagged(what do you expect from a $50 supercrap battery) new battery and turning it over contantly whilst trying to get timing and things done and its still fine

should still be in warranty, take your yellow battery warranty card that you should have been given in with your battery and they should replace it.

never got a warranty card with that battery, although the replacement is the same type of battery and i did get a warranty card, so i could take it back it just wouldnt be completely honest(plus im not sure where i put the warranty card i think its in the other car still)

Leighton if it is making a clicking noise it could be a number of problems.

It could indicate that the battery isn't charged enough, or it could be something such as the starter being jammed. If it is not the battery, then try putting the car in third gear with the hand brake off and rocking it back a forward until you here a clunk kind of noise (the starter freeing up).

The clinking noise is the solenoid trying to send power to the starter. Therefore the problem may be a loose wire between the solenoid and the starter or the starter itself. If you get really stuck, e-mail me and I may be able to come around and have a look for you (tomorrow arvo or wednesday arvo).

Ok, now thats 1 problem out of the way. You will now need to check the other obvious areas. Do you have spark at the plugs?
