I've reproduced the paint code stickers that i've been given/ seen. The question is what years do people think they are for? 1/ Spartan supercryl Late 60's/early 70?? 2/ Dulon clubbies?? 3/ Berger duracryl early 70's??? I can then make the codes and names up for the matching years. ![]() Thanks |

Now you need to do a blank one for a late model Leyland Mini of Moke, so the colour can be really badly hand-written, so it looks factory. ![]() Cheers, Watto. ![]() |

BMC had a deal with Berger to supply paint. For some reason they got some colours from Spartan and Dulux. Most colours were Berger but I have a feeling that they may have switched to Dulux later on. In each year they may have used paints from three or four different paint manufacturers. Some time in the late 60s/early 70s they started using acrylic paints. Holden had an exclusive deal with Dulux for Dulon Acrylic paint and other companies could not use acrylic till the exclusice deal ran out. (The "DU" in Dulux, Duco and Dulon actually stood for DuPont who were a big shareholder in GM.) The paint stickers only came in during 1969. The paint colour was stamped on the ID plate up till then. |

I have a feeling that we may need everyone to look at their cars and give accurate details of the sticker. I have just found this in the Marina Manual... (notice that it has Leyland at the top line) ![]() And this from the 1100 Manual.... ![]() |

cheers, I put the wrong one up 1100, i've made one that has the Leyland at the top, just put the wrong one up. Pressure sensitized! That makes the sticker sound hi tech. |
