Hurrah...!

We may have found Olli's problem....

It seems the mechanical advance is stuck closed which could be the root of many of my problems....

- no performance or willingness to rev past about 3500rpm
- running hotter than normal

So, if this sorts a few things out, thats just great...

Now, if I want to get rid of the 29D that is in there, will a Lucas 45D4 electronic distributor fit as apparantly it will replace 25D, 45D, and Ducellier distributors, and

What is a reasonable price to pay for one?

They all interchange (except the A+ dizzy) but the advance curve will be slightly different. (no real problem)

I recently bought a new Pertronix Flamethrower D170600 dizzy from the US, it cost me US$197.40 + US$41 postage.
Not run it yet, but it'll be in my 1360, soon.

Well if the advance curve is only 'slightly' different, it still going to be a damn sight better than what I have been running with...

I think about $160.00 all up is a reasonable price to pay then

Doc, all the prices on the petronix webpage look reasonable.
Do you think the advance curve will suit your 1360 or are you planning to customise to suit?

I've spoken with GR already, he says the curve is fine for my 1360.
Max centrifugal advance is 12° (dizzy degrees) at 3,050 engine rpm.

Advance curve for the Pertronix Flamethrower D170600 dizzy:
Crankshaft degrees=(2x dizzy degrees)
Pardon the lack of proper formatting- the site won't support it.
