you should have received the rubber strips with your flares. have you fitted them yet?
I have the same flares ( rubber sportpack ) but i am yet to fit them, looks like its going to be a PITA

Well I went down to "the country" today to cut my arches and fit sportspack arches. I printed the stencils off of the interweb and was all set to go. Stencils worked great and too the advise of Tricky when folding them up and they look a treat. As I am fitting sports pack ( rubber) arches to a clubman van they are ... well not a perfect fit. I have trimmed them a bit here and a bit their with a razor blade but have a few spots I would dearly like to add some material to. Anyone have any ideas on how to add material to rubber fenders? Its just a could of spots and not much so I was thinking of getting them plastic welded or something. Is there a better cheaper option that will look as good? Also the arches come with bolts already built in. The tip of the arch ( front) is usually held in place with the bumper on a round nose but I dont believe that this happens on a clubbie. Can I mount a bracket to them? WHat would you use to mount to rubber? I was thinking araldite or something... Thanks for your thoughts in advance!! DAvid |

I dont know. But how the filla strip that you can get that goes between the arch and the body - This should yake up a bit of the space and it doesnt look too bad. I think it works on most flairs. I dont know exactly what it is called though Brenton |

havent fitted them yet as I have not sprayed the car or arches yet and just dummy fitting. They cover a bit but the arches are not designed for a clubby shape let alone a van. I might pop into clark rubber and see what they have. Maybe also talk toa plastic welder and see what they reckon. |

Are the flares rubber or some sort of soft plastic. If they are rubber you wont be able to weld them  you may be able to glue the bits in but not sure how that will look when you paint them, pretty crap I think.
If the flares are soft plastic (polypropelyene, polyethelyene or polywantacracker), they can be welded but again how it looks when painted is upto the skill of the welder or if bog will stick. I was a plastic welded/fabricator for about 15 years mostly PVC though. Try Ausplastics in Keysborough if they are close to you, they do a lot of big stuff so might not be interested in your job, but you never know your luck in a big city |
