Post subject: | Clubman -> Roundnose: What doesn't fit.... |
Hi I am thinking of buying a roundose rolling shell and changing everything from my 1275 mini Clubman (Not 1275GT or 1275LS) over to it. This is after I take the roundnose back to bare metal and paint it or get it painted) ![]() OK that might be down the track a bit ![]() The thing is I don't want to be forever buying roundnose parts as the clubman ones won't fit ![]() So what doesn't make the swap? Obviously bonnet, grill, front subframe? What about bumpers? doors? The parts don't need to be 850 looking as I can do that later (and I like the clubman interior) Or should i really be asking what does make the swap ![]() Thanks, Arrin |

Subframes will fit. Aslong as you stick with dry and not hydrolastic. Doors wont fit, the catch panel is completely different. Other than that, everything else will fit. |

So the front subframe will go from a clubman into a roundnose? I thought it might be longer as the engine bay is... Why does the Hydrolastics make a difference? my clubman has hydrolastics and I would like to try and keep the wet suspension if I can. How much is a decent price for a rolling shell with doors and subframe ![]() |

You can go wet easy, just replace both front and rear subframes and all the right piping. |

I'd keep it wet- to improve the ride and handling fit front shocks with brackets, and comp rear hydro bumpstops. ![]() |

Thanks guys, Yer I was trying to keep the hydro cause I thought it was a really neat sort of idea and a bit of motoring history. I am reconditioning the rear swing arms so I will get some new bump stops at the same time. What do the Comp bump stops look like? I'm sure I will get sold the wrong ones ![]() Any ideas on what a good straight shell with a little bit of rust is worth ? (I know how long is a piece of string) ![]() |

Downside on Hydro is that it will need pumping up every non and then. But if you leave it low it looks bloody good. |

$600 would get ya something decent, I would say. Thats if it's missing EVERYTHING else. |

Rear bumpstop kit here- http://www.minimania.com/web/SUBTYPE/Se ... entory.cfm Available from www.karcraft.com.au for $72 approx per set. Forget the comp front kit- they are too bloody high, except for rallying.. ![]() |

Seats will fit. Rear cards will fit, but front door cards won't fit roundy doors. |
