I have a MotaLita leatherbound wheel in pretty good condition, but the leather isn't black any more, it's sort of patchy grey here and there.
Apart from boot polish :shock: what can I use to blacken and condition it?

I suspect boot polish might work, but thought I'd ask here first.

Ive just always used armorall on mine? Wont really bring it back from the dead though.

I did get my 12in leather SAAS wheel recovered by Concept Vehicle Operations.

Doc, you could try black Raven Oil which is a powerful oil stain (so it says on the bottle)
Made by Waproo P/L 315 Canterbury Rd Canterbury VIC.
Bottle says it good for renovating shoes bags & all leathergoods.
(no mention of motolitas) :?

Hi Doc
Dont use boot polish. It'll get all over you and may damage the stitching.
Go to a saddlery store like Horseland and get Effax Leather Combi to clean it and condition it so its non-slip and tear resistant. Then Apply Effax Leather Balsam to keep it looking good and soft and stop the stitching rotting (unlike some other products). Great for leather arm chairs and seats to.

If you need to recolour the leather first they will have the right product. Those horsey people are very fussy when it comes to leather stuff.
A leather motolita is worth spending the money on. Ive had mine for about 30 years and its even survived being used in the J car (although the leather cover did get screwed around a bit). All that gritting teeth and clenched fists.

Ive been using these products for years and my wheel still looks great
