After some info on stromberg carbies.
Brother has just bought an MG midget (1275cc with twin stromberg carbies). Just wondering what they are and how they compare to Su's or a weber ect..
Would appreciate any help!

Thanks, mooman.

Stromberg CD are a sidedraft carb similar to an SU, but they have a diaphragm instead of the SU piston/cylinder setup.
Hillman Imp GT had twin Strombergs, my brother's gave no trouble.
I doubt there are the range of needles etc for them that the SU has.

NOT to be confused wth the old Holden's Stromberg downdraft carb!

I had them on quite a few cars with no trouble apart from replacing diaphragms occasionaly. The later ones need a special tool to adjust the mixture, I made one in a about an hour with a lathe. Imps, Triumphs, Jags, Volvos, heaps of cars had them.
