alright guys heres my story... got a 69 mini... i think its 69 anyways.. round nose rolling shell... now i had a friend that got me on to one of his friends that panel beats paints etc.... so i gave it to him... after 6 months he had pretty much just done the panel beating thats it, what i want to know is if i should get the car back and:

(a) sell it as is to someone, buy a complete mini to tinker with (mind u this is my first mini and i have never really worked on cars before)

(b) get it back and try get it primed and painted somewhere else?

what u guys thinK? let us know.. thankz 8)

i guess these are also other questions:
1. do you have another car
2. what do you do for a living
3. how much determination do you think you have

coz i bought a working mini
love driving it
love learning stuff from it
still drivable

dunno if i'd have the motivation to build it bit by bit slowly
not knowing whats at the end of the tunnel

I would take it elsewhere, or just threaten to.. 8)
Friend of mine had a lowlight Morris Minor MM, same painting deal- but wind the clock 5 years!
By then he had lost interest and so sold it as is.

agree totaly with makka if the bodywork is done thats the worst bit over with.. if the body's now good, thats the best basis for any mini project

If you've got the time, y not do a course in spraypainting? May be cheaper than paying someone else to do it and you'll know where you're up to instead of asking your friend how far his friends got to go.

If you bugger it up you can just do a better job on your next mini... :D

do a spaypainting course aint a bad idea..... I dont really need to part with it cuz i have a friend (ben cooper... race's them) build me a engine... a 1310 wit a dellorto carb, cooper s head and hepolite pistons.... and i pretty much have every other part for the car... so i might just stick wit it aye... i dunno... on top of that i have $5000 to spend on it and i do have another car and a truck so i have no transportation worries....
