Is there anyone here who could help my daughter finish a website. She has done most of it and needs a bit of help to finish. PM me if you can help. Thanks.

She has uploaded it and it does not open at the home page. Also one page has thumbnails on it which do not appear. When the thumbnails frame is selected the full size graphics come up,. I think that is all.

OK double check the link properties for each of the pages. You can sometimes get away with calling a link whatever.html but some web page editors will get confused with thsi and automatically modify the link to read C:/file where you are working/whatever.html. To get around this a always use a full URL for links i.e http://www.yourweb page.com/whatever.html

Is this making sense?

Also, what are you calling you home page?

Ok...
1 - everything in the 'Home Page' folder should be moved to the root folder eg. she's got it as 'www.gkrc.com.au/Home Page/Home1.htm' where it should be 'www.gkrc.com.au/Home1.htm'

2 - Home1.htm should be renamed to index.htm as it's a standard that most systems automatically look for index.htm when opening a page

3 - as for the thumnails in the 'Gallery' page, it's looking for the pics in the wrong place eg. it's looking for the pics in 'www.gkrc.com.au/JPG's & GIF's/Karts_0041.jpg' but it looks like it should be looking for them in 'www.gkrc.com.au/Galpics/Karts_0041.jpg'

Make sense?

I think I can see the problem. You have called the main or home page home1.htm go into your FTP and change it to home1.html (note extra L on the end) are you sure home1 is the correct defualt name for the home page file? normally it is welcome.html or index.html

Thanks fellas. Emma will try all this and get back to you. There is a shot of Wakefield circuit on this site for those that haven't been there. In a while we hope to add shots of the facilities etc which are first class.

Can you please log on and see what I have done now. If you click on the links under home and then click on the link back to home the home page displays normally and not as it is shown when the site opens up.

How do I get the home page to display normally when the site opens?

It's possibly still looking for the stylesheet under the 'Home Page' folder.
