Morris and I got caught in the massive storms here in Sydney yesterday afternoon travelling the M5. Unbelievable amount of rain. It highlited just how well the early series Landrover dizzie cap works in place of the old side enrty cap on an original morris 850 distributor, he didn't miss a beat. Before I put the cap on I couldn't walk past the front of Morris with a full bladder, let alone go driving in the rain. And you can use 8mm leads aswell.
A winner all round.

I still use the old side entry - with alot of tape wrapped around it! Luckily it has never let me down....yet (touches wood).

Yeah I bought a new Bosch cap for my N13 Pulsar Dissy and have drive through 2ft puddles of raid, no issues at all (that and it's an electronic dissy :P )

I think early morning condensation is a bigger problem with mechanical dissies than heavy rain...
