Roller cams are old news. Watson Cams in Sydney used to do them for Minis in the 70s (and I bet that they were not alone!)

My personal view, more bits to fall into the gearbox.

If they were that great Mini people would still be racing with them.

Sorry you know I like my bling but if find it unnessary and just another place to fail

If it improved HP I could understand but from the orginal I would not bother even if it was a car engine.

Who's this anna

At least you can Brag to your mates that your engine contains a "rollercam setup", Which you can even if it does not have one as no one can see it! Internal Bling. I recon if it was a necessary thing BMC would have done it in the first place. I know someone who had a kit like this fitted to a race engine and the engine blew up on the start line before he even started the race and it was something to do with oil flow to the cam shaft or something of the sort. I recon it is asking for problems. Is it worth it for it's benefits especially on a road car ?

So just because you all can't afford it and you don't have one then you deem it to be crap ...

I have one block already machined with the roller cam in it and i know of a few other racers that also use the roller conversion ..

why would it fail it's a bigger bearing can take more load ... less rolling resistance im failing to see a down side yet

Oh Please do not get me wrong. I am not saying that it is not a good thing. All I am saying is that is is not at all beneficial for the cost especially for a road going vehicle. The experience I have had with this Mod was well over 20 years ago when they were probably a proto type Modification. I am sure that AvonBar and many other well known Mini engine Specialists, modifiers and re builders have got it down to perfection by now. If I could Justify using them for myself I probably would. I also understand that all these little mods no matter how small the horse power increase is from the mod all add up in the end. Horse power costs money you pay a lot to gain a little bit more each time.
