I took the blue canoe for a local blast. Towards the end of driving the last of the pilgrims away the eastern suburbs the front drums were smoking badly and fading. I was thrashing it and did some heavy braking but I have never had a cars brake fade from semi-normal retardation to "oh crap" like this.

After coolling down all was well - is this to be expected?

If you boil the brake fluid it instantly goes from "semi-normal" to "oh crap".

Makes for excitement, no?
