To All...there are many people out there with ex-BMC factory Hydro Pumps (aka Daleks).

Has anyone found a parts breakdown etc (they are fairly simple inside).

One unit down here needs a seal (I know maybe Pirtek, Enzed...maybe Gasweld, Brake places..etc). The rubber seal being chased in this case, is an unusual shape. It looks not unlike a valve cap with a hole in the top where the fluid is pumped in. The little rubber seal goes in the clip-on connector on the "pressure" hose. This is the connector at the end of the hose that connects to the hydrolastic valve at the rear subframe.

If anyone has found good parts sources or repair and maintenance info...please post em up.

Thread revival

I was just searching stuff on Hydrolastic pumps and came across your thread on Factory Maintenence etc.

I have found a site which shows a fitting called a "gas chuck" which connects to a schrader valve and is the low loss type fitting as originally fitted.

Anywho here is the site with pics and a supplier - I have been looking for an online local supplier but cant find one. Mine is seized so if it doesnt free up I will need one too.

I bought my connector from Caterpillar Spares at Wetherill Park. It's for charging nitrogen.Called a Chuck, part number on the packet is 1S-8933

It was a while ago Matt that I got it .You know, one of those projects that were waiting to be done. I thnik it was about $80. Read somewere that one of the mechanics? had remodelled a standard chuck by using a nylon washer instead of a copper one to reduce deforming by over tightening. Also it had a thumb wheel affair to allow it to be tightened sufficiently by hand. Hope this helps

Wow!!! 50.00GBP for the very same chucks that are available in Oz for less than half that cost. These are availbale for RLM Distributing in Brisbane by mail order. There is another post about this, I can't find it thru the search function.

Those UK chucks must be genuine Cooper S ones . . . .
